Bluestar Environment achieves zero breakthrough in zero discharge of domestic chemical wastewater

A few days ago, the blue bromine chemical wastewater zero-emission project of the Qingdao Branch of the Blue Star Environment General Contractor (hereinafter referred to as “Jingbo Petrochemical”) rubber plant successfully achieved crystallization and salt, and passed the acceptance. This is the first domestically-run chemical wastewater zero-emission project, which means that the field has finally achieved zero breakthrough.


Jingbo Petrochemical is a national energy-saving and emission reduction experimental site, and the requirements for sewage discharge are extremely strict. Whether the brominated concentrated salt wastewater generated in the production process can achieve zero discharge directly affects the production of the technical transformation project, so the timely and stable operation of the zero-emission system is of vital importance to the enterprise. In February last year, Jingbo Petrochemical organized a tender for this project. After careful analysis and comparison by relevant experts, Bluestar Environment won the bid for technical solutions with targeted, safe and stable performance.


The zero discharge of chemical wastewater requires that most of the wastewater produced by the production enterprise be reused after treatment, and a small part of it is treated as solid or concentrated liquid, and no form of waste water is discharged to the surface waters. To achieve this goal, the system needs to consider the advancement, rationality and economy of the process, and solve it through an integrated process plan.


Through in-depth research and analysis, careful communication, and with nearly 30 years of deep accumulation in the field of water treatment, combined with multi-party engineering cases, the Bluestar Environmental Project team finally explored a process route to adapt to zero emissions of bromine-containing wastewater. The whole process development integrates advanced technologies such as pretreatment, special membrane separation and concentration, high-concentration concentrated electric drive membrane, and combined with the self-developed “multi-effect evaporation crystallization” technology, on the one hand, the membrane water production and evaporation condensate reach the industry. The circulating water standard can be reused as production process water; on the other hand, the concentrated water is evaporated and crystallized to realize the recovery and utilization of the bromine salt, and finally the zero discharge of the wastewater is realized.


The process includes a number of core technologies independently developed by Bluestar, which realizes the resource recovery of pollutants in sewage and water, effectively responds to water quality fluctuations during the operation of the plant, and the investment operation cost is economical and reasonable.


After the joint debugging in November last year, the project successfully produced salt. The whole process embodies the advantages of stable operation, safety and reliability, low energy consumption and low energy consumption, and achieves the goal of zero emission and resource utilization. The integrated salt treatment process concentrates the salt content of the wastewater by more than 30 times, and the high-concentration brine realizes the recovery and utilization of the bromine salt through evaporation and crystallization.


The success of the project has enabled the Blue Star environment to establish a positive contribution to the healthy and sustainable development of China's petrochemical industry in the field of water treatment, especially high-difficult wastewater and zero discharge of wastewater.
